Petition for a Bridge over the River Wandle at Ravensbury Terrace to Groton Road

We the undersigned wish to support the building of a pedestrian bridge across the River Wandle at Ravensbury Terrace to Groton Road. This bridge was originally proposed in 2016 when the flats at Ravensbury Terrace were being completed and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money was put aside for it. The creation of a bridge here will reduce the travel time from the area around Ravensbury Terrace to Earlsfield station, Garrett Lane and its many shops, restaurants and bars. It will also relieve the pressure on Penwith Road and its narrow pavement, which becomes a pinch point at certain times of the day. With more flats at Ravensbury Terrace being completed now it has become even more necessary for the increase in population. A feasibility study has been done and rough costs estimated.

We are calling on Merton Council and Wandsworth Council to work together to make this happen.
