Wimbledon Hill Traffic Management Scheme

Rat-running on roads around Wimbledon Hill has been a problem for decades.

In April and May, Merton Council began drawing up potential proposals to restrict traffic from going through certain junctions on roads between Belvedere Grove and Woodside at certain times of the day.

If the Council implements a scheme they will likely do it using a ‘temporary traffic management order’ which means they put it in place for 6 months to get more data and feedback.

We are particularly concerned that the Council has not provided councillors or Wimbledon’s MP any real information on the proposals, or the timescale or development process. They are not really providing the general public any information either.

Hundreds of people have been in touch with us as news about the plans has begun to come out.

We are in touch with Council officers about our concerns, and about the need for clear information to residents, and the complexity of the proposals.

We are trying to get as much clear information as possible and we will publish it here as we get it.
