November 2008 - Lasting tax cuts in Merton: At a packed meeting in the All Saints Day Centre in South Wimbledon on 20 November 2008, Dr Vince Cable MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor, called for income tax cuts to help struggling families cope with recession. . . . click here for more October 2008 - Switch off : save more: With national economic conditions deteriorating, many Wimbledon residents are struggling with rising energy bills, mortgages and more expensive food. Dunonald Liberal Democracts Anthony Fairclough and Alain Desmier have launched the Switch Off : Save More campaign. Local Lib Dems are knocking on doors in Wimbledon, talking to people about how they can start saving on their energy bills, whilst also helping them reduce their carbon footprint.
