A new campaign has been launched to clear up Wimbledon’s railway embankments, bridges and stations.

“Railway companies’ land often becomes a magnet for litter and graffiti. We want to raise awareness of what people can do to improve their local environment,” said local campaigner Anthony Fairclough, who has been assisting residents to take action on this since 2006.

A blog has been set up at www.messytrainland.wordpress.com to keep track of the worst “grot spots”, monitor other issues affecting railway and tram land, and help clean up Wimbledon one track at a time!
