As reported in the Wimbledon Guardian, 10.09.09
"Environmentalists are calling on Merton residents to slash their carbon emissions as part of the 10:10 climate change campaign, launched last week.
The campaign urges groups and businesses to follow easy steps that will lead to a 10 per cent reduction in carbon emissions by the end of 2010.
Wimbledon resident and Merton Liberal Democrat Anthony Fairclough said: "People can sign up to this campaign at 1010uk.org - there are loads of easy ways to cut your carbon emissions listed on the website and they often involve saving money too.
"As well as individuals, it's vital that businesses and organisations do their bit too. I have written to Merton Council's chief executive, asking him to confirm that the council will be backing this campaign."
