Green transport is a key part of fighting climate change.
"Very few scientists seriously question the threat posed by climate change. A key to meeting this challenge is to reduce rapidly increasing emissions from domestic flights. This will only happen if people have viable alternatives."

"I am pleased that the Liberal Democrats recently announced plans to incrwase charges on domestic flights and spend the money this generates on our trains.

We have an overcrowded and expensive train service. The Liberal Democrats plan to double investment in the railways. This money would be spent on a high speed line from London to the north. It would also be spent on longer trains and platforms on commuter routes.

If we are serious about tackling climate change, we must invest in our trains."
