The pollution was links to a Thames Water leak. Local Lib Dems are campaigning to stop Ken Livingstone from passing on the costs of Tube firm Metronet going bust to the public. Metronet was chosen by Livingstone to improve our outdated underground network. Local Lib Dem Anthony Fairclough said "We don't think that the public should pay for Labour's failed partnership with Metronet. We badly need the Tube system improved, but PPP ('public private partnership') shouldn't become passengers pay the price!"
